Sijangkang Mangrove Community
Among the communities that she and her team is actively involved is the Sijangkang Mangrove Community. With the help of the community, the site has become a a model site for a mangrove monitoring program using an IoT system. Mangrove sensors are installed at the mangrove forest, and weather station has been built at the entrance of the mangrove recreational center. Sensory data is captured and transmitted to the Gateway via the LoRa module. Then, it is sent from the Gateway to the cloud server using the available 4G mobile networks in the area. The gathered data is then sent to the cloud and displayed on a dashboard. The dashboard will display all of the data in real-time.
Above are the sensors installed, from the left is water level sensor, temperature and humidity sensor, environmental sensor, and soil sensor. Environmental sensor gives information for the parameter of solar radiation, UV radiation, illuminance, precipitation, wind direction, wind speed, air pressure, and particulate matter.

Mangrove Education Program
Mangrove Education Program is one of the initiatives under the MEITA project organized by Universiti Putra Malaysia in collaboration with Malaysian Nature Society for school students and teachers. The main objective of this Mangrove Education Program is to empower youth with the knowledge related to biodiversity and the environment of mangrove. Specifically:
a) To raise awareness on the importance of components in mangrove ecosystem and how it affects human either directly or indirectly.
b) To transfer knowledge to the community, specifically school students (10 to 19 years old) regarding the use of technology for mangrove monitoring.
c) To assess the understanding and involvement of school students on the Mangrove Education Program.
The Mangrove Education Program comprised of two (2) main activities, which is the mangrove webinar series and competition (photo poetry, essay writing, mangrove quiz, and TikTok video).
i. Mangrove Education Program Webinar Series
The webinar series consists of four sessions organized to promote awareness on mangrove ecosystems and the importance of conserving it using technology. Speakers who are experts in their own field shared various components of mangrove biology and ecology, mangrove and its communities and the use of technology in mangrove conservation. The webinar series were held between the months of August and October 2021 was well participated by students, teacher trainees and school teachers nationwide.

ii. Mangrove Education Program Competition (photo poetry, essay writing, mangrove quiz, and TikTok video)
The Photo Poetry, Essay Writing, Mangrove Quiz and TikTok Video Competition were organized to encourage students of various skills and interest to join us in the effort to spread the message on the importance of conserving our mangroves through the use of language and social media platform.
